THE GAP DIVIDED: A CIVIL WAR EXPERIENCE
Soldiers of the Union and Confederacy struggle for control of the strategic mountain pass of Cumberland Gap, the gateway from Kentucky into eastern Tennessee and an open road to the heart of the Confederacy. The sleepy town of Cumberland Gap suffers from the presence of the occupying armies. Eastern Tennessee and Kentucky were both torn by the war, and men from the area volunteered for service in both the northern and southern armies. Neighbor against neighbor...brother against brother...son against father.
